After 5 years I was given the smaller ResMed S9 with the smaller tube and separate power supply.
I found that I could hear the S9 huffing and puffing in comparison to the older larger Spirit and I reverted back to the older machine. It is absolutely quiet!
I was diagnosed with restless leg syndrome and also REM sleep behavior disorder (RBD).
I used to kick and punch my wife.
Clonazapam .5 mg prescribed and it was effective to control the RBD.
In the last year or so, I was not getting a full night of sleep as before.
Clonazapam was increased to 1.0 mg (two .5 pills) but it made me groggy.
I found a method that is pretty effective to help me get back to sleep.
I take .5 mg at bedtime and I have several .25 mg (.5 halves) on my bathroom sink.
When I awake to urinate I do not take off the nose mask or headband.
Instead, I place the pill into my mouth under the chin strap and use a straw to drink water from a prepared plastic cup.
I am now using .75 mg per night instead of 1.0.
I hope that my experience is useful for others.
