When I wake up, the pressure is usually at 8.5, and my app and results page states that the “90% Pressure = approx 8.5”
Is it a bad idea to change my pressure to 8.0-14.0 or perhaps 8.0-12.0?

Actually with the Dreamstation I would set the minimum pressure at 8.5. You have the right idea.

RE: 90% Pressure meaning & Setting Correct Pressure for Auto-CPAP
This is best answered when looking at your nightly Sleepyhead charts. We have no idea of what kind of events you are having or how often you are having them.
With PR machines you do want a narrow range for pressures because they tend to be somewhat slower to respond. While I'm at it let me also ask how do you feel? This too is an influencer on settings. There is nothing wrong with changing settings, but do so with a purpose and a goal, and always based on information. Fred
