A couple of newbie questions

RE: A couple of newbie questions
My 2 cents for now: make any adjustment you have to so that you will use the CPAP consistently and won't tempt yourself to quit.

And the pointer on getting used to the mask while awake and reading, etc. has merits as well. It gets you used to the set-up overall, and adds to the likelihood of your therapy success.

Once you're used to masking up nightly and consistently using it, then you're set well to adjust to maximize effectiveness to have that lowest AHI possible.

RE: A couple of newbie questions
I didn't have any "help me, I'm suffocating" panic moments last night, so I'm definitely more comfortable with the max set to 12. I can be pretty determined when I have to be, so nightly use will happen. And I definitely understand your point about not tempting myself to quit; I use various versions on this theme to keep myself exercising daily. I'm really hoping that tonight's AHI will be at least as low as today's was. Or at least close to it. That's my goal for tonight.

RE: A couple of newbie questions
You had an 8 hour stretch of uninterrupted sleep and another nearly 10 hour stretch...........kudos to you. I would definitely say that's determination. We look forward to seeing more data and walking with you in your journey. However, as you have reached your attachment limits some data is 'dropping off' and history has been lost.

In the past, others have asked me to keep with one thread and to attach info with imgur - to keep that history so as to be able to advise on developments in your therapy.

I'm sorry, I have no idea what you're trying to tell me.

I'm still waiting for a night of uninterrupted sleep. I wake numerous times every night. I'm exhausted.

RE: A couple of newbie questions
Your decision to reduce EPR should be helpful, as is the the reduced maximum pressure. We've been trying to persuade you to try that for some time now. Please post results when you have them.

What Apnea Infant was saying is to keep all of your therapy information in one conversation thread (this series of posts) so that the history of your progress is easy to see in one place.

Also to attach your charts via imgur as you appear to have reached your attachment limit and your old attachments are lost.

I am putting everything into the same thread, but attach them how? I want to post last night's results (not good), but I'm waiting for further instruction.

RE: A couple of newbie questions
Does that mean I have to leave the images on Imgur and open to the public?

RE: A couple of newbie questions
No, you can place them into an Imgur folder and that allows you to set some privacy restrictions.

One of the restrictions is totally private, you want the lesser one, that is between totally private and totally public (this allows linkage to the forum).
