'A moral choice': the case of the missing $50,000
Shopkeeper hands $50,000 find to police. What would you do?

A customer walks into an op shop and purchases an overnight bag. At the register, an unsupervised store volunteer unzips the side pocket. Fifty thousand dollars in cash falls out. All in $100 bills.

The find sparks the ultimate in real-life integrity tests.

After three months, police can conclude the money literally fell into the hands of one of the most honest shop assistants in Australia, but, at the same time, brought forth some of the most grasping charlatans to draw breath.

Turn it in. I have to sleep with myself. Sure, I could also sleep in a better bed with a better roof that doesn't leak but it would bother me for the rest of my life.

I might be tempted to keep it, but the thought of where the money came from would haunt me. Maybe it would do some good for someone in need. Does a good deed cleanse dirty money?

I just received two shipments of the same order for no additional payment through amazon. I contacted the seller and said I hadn't ordered the additional shipment, and that I would not be paying for it, nor would I pay for return shipping, but if they wish to have the second set of identical merchandise back, they may send me a return shipping label, and I'll send it back. Additionally, I told them if I didn't hear from them in a month I would assume we're good and keep the additional items. I got an autoreply so far asking my fill out a seller feedback form. No other reply. Not sure the cost of return shipping will be worth their effort. I'm a happy camper either way.

Every time I order a tshirt from Zazzle, I get two shipments. Each time, I contact the seller and each time, no one responds. I'm only charged for the one shipment.

And zonk, the article said it was an "op shop" then later clarified it was a Salvation Army store. So what does the "op" mean?

From Wikipedia:

Quote:A charity shop, thrift shop, thrift store, hospice shop (U.S., Canada), resale shop (when not meaning consignment shop U.S.) or op shop (Australia/N.Z.) (from "opportunity shop") is a retail establishment run by a charitable organization to raise money.

Ah. I just could not come up with a word that started with OP that fit. Opportunity just didn't fit but I can see it now with all the others.

Much thanks!
