A10 Elite Presure Relief On/Off Setting?
I am wondering what the pressure relief setting on/off is doing?
I just turned it off and my throat is way more pressurized. Is that a bad thing? .

RE: A10 Elite Presure Relief On/Off Setting?
The EPR reduces pressure as you exhale, making breathing easier and more comfortable. You can set it to 1, 2 or 3 cm H2O or off. Many users just turn it off, but it's really a matter of personal preference and comfort. The only possible downside is that EPR can sometimes cause central apnea in susceptible patients, so keep an eye on that.

My settings only let me turn it on or off... It really makes the pressure feel much stronger when it's off. I turned it back on.

I'm not really familiar with the Elite but I suspect it is configurable from the clinician menu.

You can set EPR to "ON" or "OFF" in the clinical menu Just below it, you find the following choices: EPR ... Ramp Only or Full Time EPR Level 1 - 2 - 3 Here is the full explanation from ResMed EPR: http://resmedfoundation.org.au/us/assets...c=patients

I used it for about a week until I got used to the machine and now I have it off and don't miss it.

If you only see "ON and OFF" means you're in "Home menu ... Options", not in the clinical menu See post #1 for the instructions "how to enter into the clinical menu, posted by sharp56 http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread-...irsense-10 I should have point it out that the clinical manual is available via Email You find "CPAP Setup Manuals" link at the top of the page |
