AHI Levels

AHI Levels
Hi Everyone,

I am hoping someone can answer a question for me.

I am using a Resmed S9 Elite. I check my AHI in the morning and see numbers with decimal points such as .5 or .7 rather than whole numbers as I would expect.

I have been diagnosed with a severe apnea and it seems unlikely that I am dialed in to an efficiency of less than 1.

Does anyone know why?

Thanks,
Tony

RE: AHI Levels
Welcome, Tony, it would suggest that you are having less that 1 apnea on average per hour over the full night which is great. I would suggest you download either the Sleeyhead or Res Scan software from on here and start to really look at your data, it will work on the Elite. You will need a card reader, take the Simcard out of your machine and load it up and see what the data says. If you need help reading it ask on here or there are Youtube video's to help, good luck.

Thanks Tez! I think the SIM card and the software are really worth doing.

RE: AHI Levels
Some people do respond that well to the machine. Don't forget it's an average number based on how long you slept.
It's counterintuitive, but the pressure you need is not necessarily correlate to the severity of your SA. Some people with severe apnea only need a pressure of 7 and someone with mild sleep apnea may need the same pressure. How are you feeling?
