Abletree's Therapy Thread

RE: Abletree's Therapy Thread
Whatever happened from 1:30 to 1:55 just looks strange. Try remembering or set up something to know how many times you shut machine off (and preferably when), then if machine is shutting off at other times it is either because you weren't aware and took mask off or smartstart is acting up.

I wanted more of your PSG data but you haven't posted it. Nightmares, night terrors, verbalization and acting out are not typical of apnea but can be related to some other issues. Setting up an infrared camera to try and catch examples on tape could probably be helpful in understanding what is actually going.

RE: Abletree's Therapy Thread
Thanks Geer1 - I have never actually turned off my machine. I have been using SmartSense since the first day. I'll be posting my last night info shortly. It shows consistent mask use throughout the night

When you ask about PSG data, where would I find that so I can post it? I think I will try to find a way to track these events as you are suggesting. These events used to be more frequent.

Before the AS10 therapy I would toss, turn, flip, jump and swing my arms - to the danger of my wife - almost every night. Nightmares/terrors with verbalization would happen a few times a month. Since starting therapy with the AS10, I lay still and calm - with the exception of the nightmare 2 nights ago & maybe one other time (can't remember for certain)

Thank you for your input Smile

RE: Abletree's Therapy Thread
Hello Everyone - Last night seemed relatively stable - No known breathing issues, bad dreams, headgear removal etc.

Here is the OSCAR if you are interested to see

Thank you

PSG is also known as the sleep study, typically that's referring to the diagnostic study, the first one without PAP mask. You get the report by requesting it from your doctor. You'll need the detailed report. And if you've done both diagnostic and Titration, get both. Then you redact or blacken out personal info and load the report data off your computer. You can then attach the file in a post for us to review.

Yes PSG data is your detailed sleep study data. All you have posted is summary comments, there should be more pages with tables and graphs and things like RERAs and RDI specified.

RE: Abletree's Therapy Thread
I have identified several nights where my Flow Rate graph flattens at the top, and then is followed by what appears to be me removing my mask

The event corresponds to a Leak Rate chart rise exactly where the Flow Rate flattens

This happens more nights that not. Also. My Flow Rate "bandwidth" seems to diminish through the evening - at the start of the night, my Flow Rate chart has lower lows and higher highs. Seems to shallow with each passing hour

I have provided a couple of screenshots. Any ideas on what is happening, and any suggestions?

Mouth breathing/leaking. Either stop leaking or stop removing mask when you wake up.

I have had a couple of better nights after using my new invention! I used a surgical mask to DIY a chin strap. this seems to secure my headgear just enough to keep me from removing, or having the headgear slip off, during the night. Better AHI & more time of usage!

My virtual sleep lab follow up is on the 30th. I'm looking forward to that. Interested to see what they say about the next step forward.

My gut tells me there is more I can do to optimize the quality of my sleep. I'm an amateur, hoping to someday help pave the way for other amateurs Smile

RE: Abletree's Therapy Thread
Here is my ACTUAL Sleep Study! My revisit is on Monday.

Anyone who has been following is invited to look it over & compare with my OSCAR data that I have posted in this thread

My main goal with the revisit is to keep the investigation & learning going - and possibly move to try an AirCurve if that might help with my exhalation/leak issues. I don't want to be stuck with a machine that isn't nest for me for the next 4 years

I'd like to shoot for a 2nd in-lab sleep study to address my leg movements, mask leaks, night terrors and latency

I hope you can see the photo I have provided. Thank you
