ResMed AirMini Usage

ResMed AirMini Usage
I've had a ResMed AirSense 10 and their AirMini for several years, and have nothing but good to say about the machines.  However, I've recently been diagnosed with mixed apnea, leaning mostly to central (CSA), and will be using a ResMed AirCurve 10 ASV as soon as it gets here.  Meanwhile, I've picked up a good used ResMed S9 Adapt ASV for immediate use and to serve as a back-up in the future.  So.  Two questions please: is using the AirMini while traveling still warranted?  My thought is that it will be better against "central" than nothing, and I really don't want to pack the main machine on every trip.  Second question: is using an ASV machine in the ASV Auto mode dangerous without obtaining setting instructions from my doctor?  Thanks, all!
