One additional thought: perhaps your PCP or cardiologist (if you can get one, which I hope you can) could have you wear a heart monitor for an extended period of time. As I write, I'm one week into a month with a holter-type monitor that continuously records and sends data over a dedicated cell phone. A zio monitor would be even handier, if that's an option.
