Is AHI Misleading?

RE: Is AHI Misleading?
Sa8, I would raise you min pressure to 7 to clear up some of the stuff happening below this and review. The max to 15 or 20. to give the machine more room to move.

As has been posted there is the nightly AHI that averages in the left hand column. The night per hour and the AHI chart, that shows the rolling average.

For auto-cpap, from machine data or software. You can set the min pressure 1 or 2cm below 95%. Or clinicians commonly use the maximum or 95% pressure for fixed pressure CPAP, this can also be used for min pressure.

My wife gives me grief about looking at my data each morning, but this is exactly why I look at it. What happened? When did it happen? Can I figure out why it happened?

Having just been officially diagnosed with central sleep apnea a little less than a week ago, it scares the bejesus out of me. I am on a 90-day compliance period now and will have to go sit down with my doctor in August to discuss my future. During that discussion, I hope to see if we can get some answers. I read pretty nasty stuff can be a cause for central apnea and, as far as I know, I do not have brain damage and my ticker is still ticking good. I may fall into that group of idiopathic CSA sufferers; at least, I certainly hope I do.

Why are you on s10 Autoset and not ASV? Autoset treats Obstructive Apnea, ASV treats Central Apnea.

That's what the doc gave me...

You may have had a lot of CA on the night. They have settled right down and are of no concern now. Just something to keep an eye on. There are pressure induced CA that can take up to 12 weeks to resolve in most people. You're one, that took a week.
