AirCurve 10 Humidity Setting
#31
RE: AirCurve 10 Humidity Setting
In addition to the low position for your ASV, it helps if the tubing rises from the unit, rather than droops. This causes any water to drain back. In my case, I suspend the tubing from a high headboard for my bed, but there are many other devices like the Hose-Buddy that also suspend the tubing. We have seen many Airsense 10 and Aircurve 10 machines, including ASV that have operated without complaint, so unless something really unique is malfunctioning here, I suspect you should be able to make this work.

RE: AirCurve 10 Humidity Setting
I do not like the fact that I have to raise the hose, lower the machine, etc ... The machine should function as well or better than the machine that is being replaced! I didn't have to do all of these little tricks to make my old system work and NOT about to have to do it for a $10,000.00 machine either! Like I have stated, it's probably a defective machine, but with past history of similar designed machines, (not Technology) I have no TRUST in this machine now! Hopefully the Dreamstation will be a better alternative? If not, I will go back to my S9 and have my specialist turn off my pain pump and go back on a few oral meds for pain. The pain pump and it's medication it pumps has caused these problems anyways! Either way, I'm done with the ResMed AirCurve 10! Thank you all for your support and help! I have found a new home for my apnea venting! LOL Wink

RE: AirCurve 10 Humidity Setting
FWIW: It is possible the control circuit and/or thermostat for the heating element is at fault. It may be worth reporting to the DME, or whoever you purchased/obtained your device from, to see if a repair or replacement is offered. Note that I am not a doctor nor a device technician; I have seen at least 1 other report similar to this here on Apnea Board that does sound similar/familiar, and I think that the repair/replace action was suggested with good results that time.

You may already have contacted the DME, but that is what I personally suggest as an action as if it were me going through your situation. Normally, these AirCurve 10s are very well made, but as you are aware, there can be a defective unit that gets past the quality control team. And that is for every brand of every product out there.

I sincerely hope you get it fixed to your satisfaction so you can obtain the sleep therapy you deserve.

Best to ya,
Dave B.

RE: AirCurve 10 Humidity Setting
I sure hope you didn't pay $10,000 for a machine commonly available at $3-4k (and less if you're looking). It's expensive, but $10K is not credible. Rant on. Smile

I don't need to go through any such machinations for my ASV to function properly, and my hose often dangles.

If as you suspect there is a defect--and I'm with you there--why not get the machine evaluated, repaired, or replaced?

If you don't you'd be giving up the most sophisticated tool for treating your problem in favor of either an S9 that can't or a Dreamstation ASV that generally isn't as well-regarded.

Defects happen. But why shoot yourself in the foot?

With the rental fee for 13 months, Network Health my insurance will have paid $9754.85! I got another new machine this afternoon from my DME supplier. If this fails to work properly then I will be done with ResMed! LOL

I hope your co-pay and deductibles are reasonable; otherwise, you know what to do.

WOW! That DME has a great deal for themselves.

I'm glad for you getting a replacement device. Hoping it works well.
