Good luck zonk. Dont' write-off the machine if you haven't tried the filter. I was surprised at what a difference it made. I couldn't even see any dust or blockage by looking at it but the new filter solved the problem for me.

Thanks, took the machine out last week end and the noise has completely gone
As they say, don't count your chicken ......., or something like that
