Airfit P10 love but need something else

Basically the strap keeps getting longer. My solution has been to shorten the strap by putting a few stitches in the strap on each side of the split to take about an inch out of the length each time.

My problem is that this strap is supposed to last a year. I can't even make it 3 months without it getting so lose that it falls off of my face within an hour or so. I just made adjustments to the sides again and I think I might have made it too tight this time because now I am waking up around 5am or earlier with a sore nose right between the nostrils.

So my 6 months on this mask ends Oct 8.

I would like to find a different mask that is similar to the Airfit P10.
I really like how the P10 doesn't feel like you are strapped in. But I don't think it is doing me much good if I can't keep it in place. Basically a P10 with adjustable straps would be awesome...

It sounds to me like you already have an adjustable strap, but that you actually do not like it? You should discuss this with Retired Guy, perhaps a PM asking for his thoughts on the topic?

Hi Chrstauffe, I have exactly the same problem as you. My P10 straps keep stretching and I keep sewing.
I did find on another forum where you are able to fix the Swift FX headgear to the P10 and I posted a photo of it on here.
It's a little clumsy and I prefer to keep adjusting every few months with the needle and thread.
It's such a shame about the headgear, that's the only complaint everyone seems to have with it. Sad

Galactus, no thank you. Mrs S has a nice machine and can do plenty with it. Was just trying to figure out what other options I have for a mask or even a pic with the velcro on it.

Last night I added velcro cable. Ties to it. That seems to be the trick. Have to go a couple more nights to see if that fixed it. The last shortening I did may have been to much...

I showed it to Mrs G last night as I presume at some point I am going to have the same issue. She said to cut it in the center, take an inch or two off and then stitch the velcro in where you removed the inch leaving some extra overlap to tighten but so the velcro pieces made up the difference in length, this way you won't have the velcro atop the elastic so it will lay smooth. She says as soon as mine goes she'll be happy to do it for me, and I'll be happy to post some pictures.

This is my first P10 so I don't have any worn out headgear to have her try it on yet. She did say if anyone has a set that is worn out she'd be happy to take it and experiment with it, so if anyone has one they were going to toss out lmk.

Happily that will not be necessary..... As your head continues to swell it will take up the slack in the P10.

Well, maybe for certain people, being mean and hurtful comes easily. For me, I try and be nice to everyone, even the snails!! and the retired burdens on society!! Laugh-a-lot
