PsychoMike -
Have you been flying AirCanada, or WestJet, (or others)? This seems to be a bad time of year to call AirCanada with questions, so I appreciate your experience. I looked at the AC website, which says they need notification of battery operated CPAP, but no particular mention of regular ones. Have you ever just shown up with your CPAP in its carry case? Thanks

I just completed my first trip with my cpap and tagged the carry on bag with a Medical Device Tag. Just google it for images, find one you like, print it in color and tada - you have one. I did it on the good suggestion of the great folks here. Went through international customs like a breeze.
The doctor says coffee does not affect my tinnitus and it's got lots of antioxidants....however, the after dinner drinks are a different matter altogether.

Newbie here!
I travel internationally, and have gone to Asia, Europe and all over the US with Zero issues. Never had a script from my Doc. No one ever asked for one either.

RE: Airline travel w/ CPAP machine...?
Pholonyk,
I've flown all the big Canadian carriers and their one-offs (Air Canada, WestJet, Canadian North, Jazz, Tango) as well as a bunch of little guys. Air Canada can be a bear to get to talk to directly...then again, they can be a bear at the best of times I don't have a battery operated CPAP and have never used mine on a flight, so I can't say I have any experience to offer in that regards. I do know that the concern is the type of battery in the battery powered ones...they don't like "loose" lithium batteries in the cabin. In the laptop or phone they are generally okay with it...but spares often get collected up and put in a secure area in the cargo hold. Probably because of the implications if one shorts out...just look at all the footage of vape batteries going boom. Anyway...I've never any issue with the carrier or security, even if I've forgotten to let them know about the CPAP in advance (has happened once or twice). They see the tag and the flight crews generally treat it like gold.
