So what happens if you are using a non Resmed mask? I have the Dreamwear which can be a nasal mask or I can insert pillows.

With the Dreamwear nasal it doesn't make that much difference between pillows or nasal setting. If your using pillows with the Dreamwear you want to use the pillow setting.

Please post the link (manufacturers' site links are OK) to that information. I think ResMed is sometimes lax in updating their websites, but, of course, updating the manuals takes even longer.

Thankyou for this link you have provided but it is for the full face mask, an F20 and that should be set as a mask type full face. The original discussion was about the nasal mask the N20 and as far as I know the manual for that mask still says set the mask type as pillows and not Nasal.
