Airsense 10 vs anything else for quietness?

RE: Airsense 10 vs anything else for quietness?
Current Resmed models are very quiet. If your machine can be heard across the bed, chances are that there is a weak seal somewhere.

However, some folks are very sensitive to sound. My recommendation is to run a fan or other white noise. I have tinnitus and can no longer sleep without that.

I have the ResMed Aircurve 10 VAuto and my wife complains about it,  Seems it keeps her awake at night trying to hear me breath.  My older machines made a lot of blower noise and she could hear the differences as I was breathing.  With the ResMed she hears nothing!!!  Not me breathing, not the blower howling.  Gota love her!!!

Yes the ResMed Airsense/Aircurve machines are quiet.

I'd try a substitute of Darth Vader's unique breathing sounds as your own played via a hidden speaker under the pillow. Smile

Wishing your holiday does not contain black n blue marks or any other violent markings...but I bet it would if you listened to me.

If machine makes a whistling noise, it needs to be sent for service. There were a few issues with Resmed machines in the beginning of the year, but they seemed to take care of this issue and we have not seen any defective units in the second part of 2108. If your machine makes the sound it needs too be repaired or replaced.

If you need a longer hose, it is available (10 feet rather than 6).

When you're using it, the machine should be lower than  your head anyway, to prevent rainout from the humidifier.  So why not go one step further and sort of stash it away?

Not sure of the thread/post location, but it definitely was a Sleeprider authored post.

I have a 2-inch diameter hole in the back of the drawer for the hose and power so the drawer can be closed at all times.

I mentioned to the customer service rep for the company that furnishes equipment for my HMO that my wife has always found the existing machine noisy enough to wake her at times. The rep suggested that I request an Airsense 10, which she said is smaller and quieter.

For anyone who has experience with these machines, especially the Airsense 10, does this seem like a good way to go? Is there anything out there even quieter that I should go out of my way to see if I can obtain?

I too would suggest Airsense 10 - it is really quiet
