Alternatives to Biotene for Dry Mouth?

Alternatives to Biotene for Dry Mouth?
I'm slowly adapting to CPAP but having an issue with dry mouth.  After about an hour the back of my mouth is so dry the tissues stick together and almost gags me.  I wake up and get a drink of water then usually leave the CPAP off for a few hours.  I've been experimenting with the humidity settings and rinsing with Biotene but neither has helped.  Has anyone come up with alternatives to Biotene for dry mouth?

Dry mouth is caused by your breathing air through it and not your nose. It can nullify your treatment. Best thing is for you to try a chin strap and also try taping your mouth if you can.

It sounds like you may be mouth breathing. Are you aware of doing that?
Another possibility is to try a "soft" cervical collar. Many here have had good results. The collar can help support your jaw/mouth from opening at night so that you don't mouth breath. A good alternative to a chin strap.

If Biotene doesn't do the trick for you, try Act Total Care Dry Mouth Rinse.

If you are using Nasal Pillows or a Nasal Mask and have a dry mouth it is almost certain that air is escaping through your mouth drying it out.
Get yourself a good chin strap or if you are lying on your back a soft collar to keep your mouth shut.
A dry throat is another matter, that is not enough humidity.
When I first got a cpap I was not given a humidifier, it took only 2 hours and I couldn't breathe. My throat was so dry I felt as if I was suffocating.
I humidifier fixed the problem, but they were so reluctant to give me one. They said they didn't have the funding, so I told them they might as well take the cpap back as I couldn't use it the way it was. He looked at my test results again and then made the phone call for me to pick up a humidifier.
I am NOT a doctor.  I try to help, but do not take what I say as medical advice.

Every journey, however large or small starts with the first step.

I'm sold on OxyMelts. They have a sticky side that will stick to a tooth or gum area. The regular ones use acacia for the sticky side. There was a chance I was allergic to the and I contacted the company (Google them). They have a non-acacia version--sticks with a cellulose gum. I like this one better--seems to dissolve slower and last the whole night although it does leave a residue behind. I order it from the company. I use a soft cervical collar--long enough so the velcro doesn't rub on my neck---and it has solved my leak problem. Without the OxyMelts I still get a dry mouth.
