Humidity level vs heated tube?
#21
RE: Humidity level vs heated tube?
Ya, the difference between the A10 and the older designs that use a separate humidifier is the A10 has an elbow internally that leads from the reservoir to the outlet.
Nifty in that it allows the removal of the humidifier for cleaning or travel without also having to disconnect the tube, and for travel without the humidifier, a simple block-off plate can be installed that directs the flow generator directly to the outlet.
In the latter case, I would suggest not draining the hose back into the machine in the event of a healthy sneeze Big Grin

And yes...  I've been using a hose cover since day-1.
Resmed makes two, one for the Slimline tubing, and one for the standard tubing.
There is a small difference in length, so though the Blue cover for the standard tubing will work with the Slimline, you'll have an extra 6" that you'll have to try to "bunch up" along the length of the tubing.
The Grey cover is shorter, for the Slimline tubing.

A "Hose Buddy" is also very helpful in that it supports the tubing directly above the machine and allows it to then drape down to the pillow.
Mine rests on my night stand, which is pillow-height, so I untied the knot in the bungee and removed one of the tubing sections to make it a little shorter.
I also put a couple of wraps of electrical tape around the top section to support the hook for hanging the mask up during the day.
