Any Suggestions for my Dads settings?
Hello all, while my I was down visiting my parents for Christmas, I got a hold of my dad's OSCAR info and you all have been so helpful to me in my own settings.

Thanks in advance!

RE: Any Suggestions for my Dads settings?
My first impression was the 0.00 AHI, which is great!   But......

You haven't mentioned if your dad feels comfortable or if he's sleeping well, or if he's tired the next day.   Even with a low AHI, you can feel not rested.

His pressure is set wide open at 4 - 20.  The minimum pressure of 4 would cause most of us to feel air starved.

I recommend he set his minimum pressure to 7cm (closer to the median pressure) and start using EPR set at 2.   This should be easy to adapt to and help with flow limitation, which can cause arousals.  This change should also even out the pressure swings.

Is he able to adjust his settings without you?

Dad has good results but very high flow limitation and highly variable pressure that can be disruptive. My recommendation, In Autoset mode, minimum pressure 7.0, maximum pressure 12.0, EPR full-time setting 2. This will tame the flow limits and be much more comfortable.

Apologies, hendoesnt mention being sleepy through the day. One issue with him is he goes to bed super late and therefore sleeps until about noon (he's retired).

I can try to walk him through the steps to take, thenonly problem is that I won't be able to get his readouts for a few more weeks.

I see it mentioned he also has FL issues also.. makes me wonder if there is something larger happening since that is something we can't figure out how tonfoce with me either.

Flow limitation can be disruptive to getting restful sleep, but it sounds like your dad isn't having issues sleeping through the night which is a good thing.

The use of EPR can bring the Fl down and also help when exhaling.  Also If you look at his pressure graph, it's  up and down quite a bit.  The pressure adjustments could even that out a bit.

The changes recommended are mostly for comfort as his AHI is good.  I understand though it may be hard to have your dad make these adjustments and harder for you to monitor not living close by.
