Any Win7 updates to avoid for Nov 2015
Anyone know of any end runs to try to push W10 or other MS junk updates this cycle?

I'll have to check. Everyone is paying so much attention to the 'big Windows 10 update' being released, today I believe, that they haven't reported on the updates for 7.

If what I read about 10 being one gynormous spyware 7 will be my last windoze. Will 10 work at all off line for those !@#$% things that are almost impossible to avoid? I have 7 on it's own partition for such things I can't get to run in VB7/LinuxMint - like my BP machine given my limited computer skills.

I use my PAP machine nightly and I feel great!

I don't see anything that refers to tracking or telemetry. Lots of .net framework updates and IE updates.

My church laptop is Win 7 and it will be staying at 7. My home laptop is a Lenovo Ideapad POS which is running Win 10. There may be a new MacBook Pro coming as my wife asked me what I wanted for Christmas? She mentioned the word laptop in the same sentence. Seeing as she has already bought most of her gifts, I may be pricing laptops on Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

BTW, my main system is an 8 year old iMac which is running the latest OS just fine.

I have a friend who downloaded the Windows 10 and now everything on her PC is messed up. She asked me if I was going to download "10" and I said "No, because my Windows 7 works just fine and it is my opinion if something isn't broken - don't fix it."

Yep within reason don't fix what isn't broken.

So far my Windows 10 box is behaving. I installed it on a fresh Windows 7 so not much could go wrong.

My Win 10 machine is behaving it self and is running a little faster than it was when it had 7 (upgrade from 8). There is a big push coming thru for 10 and I was reading some of the issues with it. One of them is the 44% hangup which occurs if you try to install with an SD card in place. Also, there have been reports that it will change default programs from what you have over the MS programs. For example if LibreOffice is you main program for word processing and you also have Word installed, it will change over the Word as the preferred. Just have to go back in and change everything again.

I had a laptop with Win8.1 and upgraded it to Win10, however it started interfering with my Flight Simulator program so removed 10 and went back to Win8.1.. Everything is hunky dory now. I also inhibited all automatic updates. I know that there may be some risk to that decision but I'm a gambler and if its working don't fix it.
