Anyone had problem switching from dreamstation to airsense [breathing problem]
#21
RE: Anyone had problem switching from dreamstation to airsense [breathing problem]
Switched to dreamstation 1 after removing foam.  First night with this machine. [this is unused machine from 2018, not the dreamstation i was previously using
I noticed there was some air noise, like i had heard another time when humidifier connection was broken
After this post i will post OTHER dreamstation 1 that i used for years that still has foam

Now posting with pdf instead of f12 as that key in oscar quit working.  googled and do not see solution.
It quit yesterday after i had done 3 screenprints in a row and was attempting a 4th.

Your Resmed results are a lot better than what you had with the Dreamstation. I think the differences in sync will eventually go away. For your obstructive apnea, hypopnea RERA and flow limits, the Resmed is a much better device. You do seem to have some positional issues, so just be aware that chin-tucking can obstruct the airway and try to avoid that. http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.php...onal_Apnea

RE: Anyone had problem switching from dreamstation to airsense [breathing problem]
thank you. i saw that some results from the resmed were better.  when you said that 'sync' will go away, are you saying that my difficulty in adjusting to resmed algorithm will go away?  Breathing felt sooooo much better with the dreamstation last night, I was surprised the results were not as good.  The chin tucking, is that something i would only do when laying on my side?

Lots of people obstruct positionally when side-sleeping. It's may look like a fetal position or just a chin tuck. Very common to tuck your head under the covers while side-sleeping and create an obstructive curve in the airway or compress the soft tissues of the throat.

RE: Anyone had problem switching from dreamstation to airsense [breathing problem]
update. new result.
[also using different way to insert pics, as f12 quit working]
Raised the pressure [on dreamstation no foam] from 8 minimum to 9.5 minimum. looks like much better
The 9.5 matches the airsense minimum pressure now.
I know the API is now below 4, so should be fine with the dreamstation with foam removed
But did the airsense 11 still give better results in other areas?  thanks, i appreciate the help.
First pic is dreamstation with no foam
2nd pic is same machine with increased pressure, better results
3rd pic for convenience is previous posted airsense 11 [mislabeled as s9]

I mean... yes, the Airsense numbers are better than either of the Dreamstation figures. I definitely think you need to look at something for the positional events though, as well. Have you fitted your mask with the machine at maximum pressure, while lying in your sleep position? If you only adjust it with the starting pressure, that might explain the big leaks as the pressure increases.

RE: Anyone had problem switching from dreamstation to airsense [breathing problem]
Back in 2017, I was issued a DreamStation Auto BiPAP, but I needed ASV. So my perception of the experience with a DreamStation will likely always be how "off" the therapy was continuously. And this is far above that it couldn't possibly help the high Central Apnea, but it was uncomfortable, disruptive, always out of sync, and made me feel thoroughly TERRIBLE after use. Yes it was primarily because it was not an SV Auto, and yet I felt better without the DreamStation. Above this failure for me was that the DreamStation was not even close to a dream. ScreamStation or NightmareStation was a lot closer to describing the experience.

I guess I'm having trouble seeing how your nasty looking DreamStation charts can actually feel better than the ResMed's.

Really? This is better for you?  Please minimize the monthly calendar.  You have positional issues on both machines, but the EPR really helps with flow limits and RERA on the Resmed.

thanks Ratchick. i do not use a ramp, so starting pressure is not low.  apparently i have a head that is a little odd shaped,  i have to adjust the strap at the back of my head downward with i turn to the side, because it has slipped up.  n30i mask.  have had the same problem with other masks.
