Absolutely stay away from Ni-Cad batteries.

I'd go with NiMH over the lithium. If I understand the data sheets, NiMH and Lithium batteires have the same capacity and you can recharge NiMH.

NiMH batteries have much more capacity than regular AAA batteries. Based on the cost of the batteries, they pay for themselves once you have recharged them two or three times. I use Rayovac Hybrids for all my AA and AAA batteries and am very satisfied with the results. They also have long shelf life and capacity for many recharges. Ni-Cads have very short shelf life; they self discharge very quickly.

I tried three different brands of NIMH rechargeable batteries (duracell, maxell and sunbeam) but the oximeter will not turn on. CMS 50 D+ has voltage rating of 2.6~3.6v. NiMh are 1.2v and two of them can make upto
2.4v. Regular non rechargeable batteries work fine because they are 1.5v. Any suggestion on rechargeable batteries for this oximeter?

RE: Anyone using CMS 50-D Plus Oximeter?
So I used my CMS-50-D-Plus last night for prob 4 hours, connected it to my computer this morning, said it recognized it but no record! New batteries too.
I did this a few weeks ago and there was no record then either but I thought it was because I had put record ON and it erased the previous session so I was careful this time. I even tried a different USB port. Any ideas? I have used it before with no problems Huh

I always had to try a few different times to get the right sequence of on/off/button push/connect to computer/etc. to get recorded data from my 50-D+.

Is this the first time you've tried to download data from it for a while? If so, try the connection sequence for a session of just a minute or so and be sure you've got the sequence right.
Get the free OSCAR CPAP software here.

If it's midnight and a DME tells you it's dark outside, go and check it yourself.
