Apnaes: difference between Central / Obstructive ?

What arguments do I use?
Too high AHI yesterday 37 vs today 16 <- still much too high
Flow limitation?? <- what to remark?
Unbearable pressure of more than 10?

Focus on lack of comfort, all the high events, lack of rest/sleep, inconsistent therapy's performance

Thank you Dave.
They seem to have taken my problem as serious. The advice is to sing it out until Monday at fixed pressure CPAP 7.
What do you suspect will give as result????

RE: Apnaes: difference between Central / Obstructive ?
I think fixed pressure is the best way to deal with complex apnea and will reduce events in most people we coach to use that strategy. It actually improves the numbers, but confirms the problem is, at least in part, therapy onset centrals. The problem will ultimately be that the fixed pressure will not be sufficiently effective, and will do little for sleep quality. I'm not trying to be pessimistic, just been there and done that. While you will see a reduction in events, like most things with central apnea, the AHI will be consistently inconsistent. Don't look now, but I actually made this recommendation to you in post 19 http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread-...#pid379169

We have been at this for a while now. This thread started January 1, and I though I showed the utmost restraint in not calling out ASV until January 4 at post #15. http://www.apneaboard.com/forums/Thread-...#pid379159 Don't take this wrong. I'm not usually wrong when I make that call, and I don't do it lightly. Right now I'm experiencing high levels of Deja-Vu.

I know it is taking too looooong, and I thank you for your patience Sleeprider.
I hope results will still indicate ASV, for that is what I want. Personally, I am convinced.
This morning I mentioned another sleep specialist closer to my home LOL

Eh, it's only a few pages of posts. Wait till you look into my therapy threads. We're talking extra length novels there.

Low to no variable CPAP would probably be OK based on what I've dealt with, but CA inconsistencies will not be tolerable long term IMO. Any BPAP is highly likely a bad idea, except an ASV. That ASV therapy will cut out the inconsistent factor.

I think it is a matter of budget that they are postponing ASV. The technician already had the RESMED in his van for me but never got the green light from the doctor. I do not believe that the cardio risk factor could be the reason.
So Sleeprider your déja-vu is about to reveal itself hihi.
Dave, I do think my case should be relatively much less complex than yours, thank you for the comforting feedback.
Enclosed my graph which will confirm your suspicions SR:

How does the health system work in France? We get some idea of what members experience in the U.K. and it seems most countries with government funded healthcare experience some limited access to professionals, and DME equipment. The big problem seems to be a lack of choice in where and when services can be obtained, and of course the private market is highly taxed. If I get fed-up with the bureaucracy here in the U.S. I can find what I want at a relatively low price in the private marketplace.

bonjour mon ami  Smile
me, be there done that, not as sleep rider of sleep with Oscar but renting a fiat car not allowed in USA driving and almost get killed in Paris   Too-funny .  I am a red wine daily drinker like you, not for cultural things. To me,a not so expensive Napa is now better than expensive Beaujolais lolll.
You, like most of my friend living in Paris think Medicine Treatment in France is super. Well tell you what ( my advice is just an ice breaker here -Wink ) Super Ball is coming. Have a glass of Napa , watch the whole game then you would change your mind despite of many advice from American People here of Sleep things.
Anyhow  Saturday Night is now @ Paris just seeing two " tomber la neige ". You will more excited seeing crazy football player hit each other if big snow storm coming during the play lollllll.
But everyone will be happy after a game.

like
No snow here. Sun is back.
I am quite happy with the French system, healthcare is in reach for all classes.
When you have to go to the hospital in urgency nobody is refused.
The problem of this kind of system is that the doctors and even more their medical services are little controlled. In my case , the technical equipment supplier seems to have  just to ask for permission from the specialist before issuing the equipment.  All is quite regulated but I suspect a lot of profit is made  on all levels....
We have a green credit card like pass which is called "carte vital" it gives access to all basic treatment. The rest is paid by the holder or by an additional insurance , if you choose to have one.
In my case , with no income and very low retirement, I pay 25 Euros a month and I am completely covered!

It's loads of fun driving in Paris, but you have to do as the Parisians do. At least know how to drive.
