Appointment to pick up new ASV . . .
#1
Today was my appointment to pick up my ASV from Apria. Eventhough I had prior experience with cpap/bipap, Apria required me to attend a group class appointment.

I scheduled an appointment at an office further away from home, because they had an earlier available appointment. When I was admitted for the class (i was the only one because the other client was a no-show).

The technician placed the device in front of me, and another technician came to the room, whom I was familiar with- and she was also confused why they required me to take the group class.

A couple of issues came up- the device was obviously not new, so I requested a new device. They said I would need to wait, since they did not have one in stock. They offered to ship it to me, to save me another trip. Also, it had a regular humidifier, not the heated humidifier with the heated tubing. I requested the heated humidifier/tubing items from my Respiratory Therapist, who told me they were ordered. But for some reason the order was not yet with Apria.

On my way home, I called Kaiser DME, and the clerk told me she has officially put it in my order. So, now we shall see what gets mailed to me, and how long it takes to arrive - hopefully sooner than anticipated Smile

Hi ruach,
I'm sorry you didn't get your machine today, but it's great to hear that you spoke up for what you wanted.
Good luck to you and keep us posted on your new machine.

Thanks Smile
I called Apria this morning to verify that the heated humidifier with heated hose was added to my order- and they said yes it has and instead of being shipped first to the local office, it is going to be shipped directly to me with all the settings in place -

Apria said to expect it within a week Smile and I will check the blower hours to make sure it really is a new unit when I receive it. . .

Ruach, as Metsfan wrote, good for you in holding your ground on getting exactly what you ordered and want. Although I have never been with Apria, I have read some reports here on the forum about them which are less than complimentary.
