Resmed S9 Humidifier Working or Not Working?
My Resmed S9 Autoset is slightly over 3 years in actual use. I stopped using it for a number of years... and have recently needed to start again. I noticed that over a week's use the water level in the humidifier chamber hardly went down if any. The hot plate does get warm... I measured the temp at about 100F without the air pressure passing through it... but in the morning after using it , the water in the tank is cold as is the hot plate... Does the hotplate turn off during a cycle of use? Should it not remain hot or warm?
Any feedback you can offer me would be greatly appreciated as well any further testing or modifications that I can do. Thanks for your time with this. Appreciated.

RE: Resmed S9 Humidifier Working or Not Working?
Hi fullrun! -
The humidifier, and its water use, is an adaptive system. It is dependent on the room temperature and humidity level. You will need less heat and humidity during the summer months as opposed to the winter months. The bottom line is, is it providing the comfort that you desire?

The humidity in our region of CT has been high... and the room temperature has been in the upper 70s over the last month and a half as we await the installation of a new AC Unit. I wondered if the heating unit for the hot plate had been cutting out after it was heating up... but your assessment makes all the sense to me why both the water and the plate are not warm immediately after my use. By and large it has been comfortable... on occasion I have awakened with a dry mouth, but I believe that's due to air escaping through it. Thank you so much for your input. I wasn't sure if I needed to replace the unit or not. Very appreciated. |
