When it comes to credit cards, I just tell them I don't have one to use. If they push back, stand your ground. There are a lot of folks who don't or can't use credit cards. If they really push back, we tell them our supplement covers what Medicare doesn't (at least in my wife's case - I'm not on Medicare yet). I also believe if the DME submits to Medicare, the most they can charge you is the allowable amount plus 15%. We ran into that with one of her other docs. (We don't use him any more).
My wife is supposed to have a sleep study in the near future, but we are holding off until after her cataract surgeries at the direction of the surgeon and cornea specialist. The sleep doctor she was referred to concurs that it is better she waits. Homer

How is your "dry" heat doing, Homer. Sounds like your wife is doing well. That ia great. Take care and don't shrivel up from all that dry heat.
Best Regards, PaytonA

I think I've decided to just keep an eye out for a cheap machine - Supplier #2 has a Gently Used ResMed S10 AirSense AutoSet For Her for $599. At least I would own it outright and I have filters, a humidifier tub, etc for that model already.
Then I can just tell them to take a leap on the supplies and will buy my own until I find another DME. I have 2 hoses, still wrapped, a humidifier tub that has never been used, still boxed and about 4 different types of masks - some with new, unused pillows. I use the DreamWear right now, which I LOVE, and a new set is only $100 or so. I'm expecting my next package from Apria soon with new mask and pillows, so that should last for a few months. "slip out the back, jack"... LOL

Are there any that are good? Or do they all suck?

If your CPAP sucks, it is plugged in backwards.

RE: Apria is annoying me, but don't know how to switch
I hate to breal up such a good roll of hilarity, but yes, there are some decent DMEs. Not too sure any work with Medicare (doubt it) but when I complain about my DME it is because I have to call them on the phone vs having all the info they see just be accessible online. wah
I have even had them ship supplies to an alternate address, and then the next batch back to home address, and nary a hick-up. It is sweetened by the fact that I am 100% covered for DME, and honestly with my head screwed back on (as it was not when I first picked up my CPAP) the contract I signed with them was draconian... if I failed compliance, they would bill me $2k!!!! however they have helped with every issue that I brought to them, happily, and they issued an autoset as the standard issue even for patients whose docs ordered straight cpap. I know this is true, because they handed out machines and cleaning instructions in a group setting! That was a little unnerving - especially when it got to the financial part - but it all worked out and I own my machine and never paid a dime at this point.
