RE: SleepyHead Software - Beginner's Guide, Questions, Answers & Discussion
OK just a quick read tells me that SH 9.6 version is not compatible with the new S10 (that I now have). SH crashes when I try to load data. I have now lost all my detailed data from more than a month ago as the only data I could get was off the S9 SD card.

Although I think there is a back up of the data, is that correct? Does that have the detailed data? How do I restore that data?

I have already figured how to access the clinician menu and feel like I am breaking into the candy store.

Reasion for my post is I just downloaded SleepyHead for the MAC and it keeps crashing when I try to import data from the SD Card

Any thoughts?

I am using a 2010 MacBook Pro 2.66 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4GB 1067 Mhz DDR3 RAM.

I choose file -> import data and I get a message "CPAP Datacard structures were located at the following location" I click Yes and the data startes to import then the application quits

Jed, you have a new machine, and your using and old software release...
When 0.9.6 test builds were created, I didn't even know the AirSense existed.

Turns out you can't simply plug in a brand new data format to SleepyHead and hope it works.. Some poor git of a programmer (me) has to first spend weeks desperately collecting data from all over the place, and then handcrafting and perfecting a new/updated importer. Coffee

As luck would have it though, a generous benefactor snuck me a AirSense 10 machine so I could greatly accelerate work on it, so I'm glad to report in the current git sourcecode, it's is working extremely well.. Big Grin

I'm working extremely hard towards getting a new public beta ready in the next couple of weeks... there's a lot of fiddly little bugs still left for me to iron out in the new version.

But if you want a sneak peak before then your going to need to build form sourcecode (Requiring XCode from appstore + QtSDK from Qt-project.org, both free, but fairly huge downloads)

Thanks for working on the compatibility issues with the AirSense 10 (A10), will give Sleepyhead a try when its ready.

So, in order to import data into sleephead on my windows PC, I need and SD card (and reader)? Is that correct?

Hi seoras and welcome,

Yes, that's true. More specifically, you need a CPAP machine that contains an SD card that it writes data to that Sleepyhead software can use. You also need a Windows based computer that has a SD card reader or you can use an outboard card reader (pretty cheap) that will suffice.

With all that in place, you run the Sleepyhead software and click on the option to import data from the SD card. Voila!

Thanks for your reply.

I don't actually have a machine - I have a CMS50E Pulse oximeter that I believed could utilise this software, according to the Wiki page. I am using that to try to determine if I do have sleep apnea because I do suffer from polycythemia and no cause has been found in almost years of tests, the eventual suggestion being that it was possibly due to sleep apnea. I was hoping the Sleepyhead software would yield more detail than the supplied SPO2 assistant does.

Thank you.

Quick question. Running a PRS1 series 60 auto aflex. model 560. Sleephead listed something in events that it did not graph flag nor is listed in the events guide.

The even was for 12 seconds and sleepyhead called it a PRS1_ob event. Does anyone know what that is??? Encore basic didnt list it nor flag it at all making no mention of it. Over 30 days of use and i have not seen this sort of event listed before.

CMS50E Pulse oximeter

I did work out how to import from a saved file but sleepyhead didn't recognise the file extension (.spO2). It did import the data if I changed the extension to .spO but the interpretation of the data was completely haywire and useless. So, it seems Sleepyhead software cannot be used with the CMS50E Pulse oximeter.

Yes, that's it., but if your SD card is larger than 2gb, make sure you get a reader that is HC compatible.

I have a question, using a resmeds9 autoset machine. Isn't the daily data I get from my screen enough? It gives me AHI, HI, AI!CA information. Also gives leak information, number of hours used and the average pressure up used that night.
