It would be a waste of money but if you have it to spend, go for it.

And I apologize. I gave you the wrong link.

I personally think you are doing a bit of overkill on this cleaning business. Just a swish with some soapy water weekly should be satisfactory.

I have a proven cleaning device I use on my CPAP equipment.

It also cleans dishes.

Seriously, get a good dishwasher that heats the water and has a "sanitize" setting. You can wash the water tank, and most mask parts can be washed in the dishwasher. I've been doing this for 8 years and my mask parts are squeaky clean and last just fine. I wouldn't dishwash the headgear in the dishwasher or any parts that have foam on them.

Even a regular dishwasher is going to do a very good job on most CPAP parts. Use it in addition to whatever hand cleaning you want to do.

Ozone does NOT!!! clean anything. At best it kills germs, but I'm skeptical any ozone device that kills germs will also damage CPAP parts. It does not magically disintegrate dirt.

Ozone is a highly reactive chemical. If you have goo of some kind inside your CPAP equipment, it's going to be transformed into some other sort of goo by ozone. There's a good chance that goo+ozone is going to be more toxic or nastier than what you started with. Why do people think ozone is going to magically disintegrate the bad stuff and leave the good stuff alone?

Also realize the ozone gadget does NOT clean your CPAP machine itself. If you look at their advertising, it claims the ozone stays within the area of the mask and the hose and doesn't escape into the room. If the ozone went into the CPAP machine itself, the ozone would leak out the back of the machine through the filter and escape into the room air. From what I see, it won't even get into the water tank.

If you want to have clean, germ free, equipment, wash it in the dishwasher once a week or so. Get two masks, two hoses, and two water tanks. After you wash one set, sit it aside and let it sit dry for a week, and use the other set of parts.

Remember, the CPAP equipment goes on the outside of your body. It's not like surgical instruments. Your toothbrush is in enormously more "intimate" contact with your body. You scrub your sensitive gums with a toothbrush, potentially forcing germs into your skin. Then you set the brush out in the bathroom air, wet, and soaked with whatever goo is on your teeth and gums when you brush. After it stews for a while, you then rub it into your gums the next day. Then you swallow and inhale whatever germs the toothbrush puts into your mouth.

Did you ever hear of anyone getting an infection from their toothbrush? Any studies showing those who brush are less healthy than those who don't?

If you have some psychological need to overly clean your CPAP parts, get the Control III disinfectant sold by some of the online suppliers and use something that's proven to work.

Or look up the manufacturer's disinfection processes for multiple patients.

Whatever float your boat ... Me just wipe the machine with clean cloth and change the filter every so often
Once you use the machine ... its no more SoClean
Anyway there is no spot checks by the CHP (CPAP Hygiene Police) Too-funny

Yes, I wash my tank (when I had one that came apart) in the dishwasher, top shelf, along with the rest of the dishes. Since I use nasal pillows, I've never had a mask I could wash but I'd not hesitate to do it if I could.

If it cleans dishes clean enough to eat off of, put in your mouth, and hold all sorts of liquid that you drink, it is good enough to clean your parts.

There are a lot of folks here who use Control II on their gear.

I took my Breeze apart and washed the non-foam parts in the dishwasher.

Yeah! There is that hard case where the pillows go. And the sliding part is plastic, too. Cool. Lazy I am, yes. Thanks!
