I have a US itunes and Australian account, same music is about 20% cheaper from US account with current exchange rates.
on the plus side, my overnight sleep study was around $800, of which medicare paid $500. I've read they are a lot more elsewhere.
My overnight sleep study was $450 for the first one and the second one, to confirm settings, was $250. I complained loudly about the price and bingo a discount of $200. Because sleep apnea is the new "black" in health, the industry seems to think that it is a money making exercise. Speak up, loudly, and watch the difference in attitude. And take your concerns to the relevant consumer department in your state and the Therapeutic Goods Administration in Australia. The more complaints the better it may get for the consumer/patient.
My two sleep studies were bulk billed. Can't see why yours weren't.

This article
http://www.nasdaq.com/article/resmed-mov...a-cm192557 from Nov 2012, probably figures haven't changed much
Revenue from the Americas, mostly the U.S., makes up 55% of ResMed's total. Sales rose 15% in the last quarter to $194.4 million. Outside the Americas, revenue rose 9% to $145.4 million.
After the U.S., the next largest single market is Germany, which accounts for 14% of revenue, and France with 12%, Farrell says.
European sales overall have been weaker than other major regions, however, while Asia-Pacific is its fastest growing region, though from a smaller base.

I find it annoying how people can get 2 pairs of glasses each year for free for life from the health funds yet ****** for cpap.

Well, I need my glasses, so I'm not complaining on that score. However, I find it annoying that some health funds will pay more for homeopathy(!) than they will for CPAP.
RE: Australians Not Well Served for CPAP
No different in the US. Insurance will pay more for drug abuse therapy and self inflicted issues than they would for Cpap use.
Hope no one takes offense to the above, I'm not referring to folk who are hooked on pain meds.
I can only get one pair of glasses every 24 months. Mine don't last that long.

Could not agree more, also goes for so many things here under our socialised healthcare system. A discussion to steer well clear of in this country if you want to keep away from conflict of one form or another.
Must say this thread has been very interesting in comparing assorted healthcare systems and payment schemes in assorted locations.
Oh, glasses we pay for, dental, health service dentists are like hens teeth, though you still pay, many go private.

I did get a Medicare rebate on them. I was just mentioning the price and what happened when I complained about the cost.
