BIPAP as emergency ventilator?

Hey all sorry to make new thread but not of an emergency here - I may need to use my BIPAP as an emergency ventilator for a couple of days.  I am suffering from a neuro condition that is slowly weakening my breathing muscles.  I am getting an actual ventilator fitting next week.  I don't want to be intubated at the hospital and am willing to go on BIPAP 24/7 if needed until I get my ventilator fitted.

So I need a mode and setting that will rest my breathing muscles as much as possible and will allow me to get as much o2 as possible with as much co2 removal as possible.  I am thinking about letting the OSAs handle themselves by sleeping on my side or prone and just focusing on breathing.

So minimum work of breathing muscles maximum o2 delivery and co2 expulsion.  Also am suffering from asthma or COPD so there's that

Your Aircurve 10 Vauto relies on spontaneous breathing to trigger pressure changes from EPAP to IPAP and is specifically not a ventilator, but is a respiratory assist device. The only device in the Aircurve lineup that can function as a ventilator is the Aircurve 10 ST or ST-A. The ST-A is preferable as it can maintain target respiration and ventilation rates. Based on what little I have seen of your results, there does not appear to be pauses in your spontaneous effort, and as mentioned in that thread, you actually appear to be over-ventilated. In any emergency, just go to the ER or call 911. Your current machine cannot perform the function you are concerned with.
