Bad Smell?
When I first start breathing through the mask, there is a slight bad smell.
If I activate the breathing then pull the mask away and let some air pump through for a few seconds then the smell is gone. I cleaned my nasal mask and hose today, but the smell was, still there tonight. I remove, empty, drain and dry my tank every morning.
Any tips?

What kind of smell? Can you determine what it smells like? What are you using to wash your equipment and how often?

It's an organic bad smell as opposed to a burnt rubber...
I soak everything in hot water with dish soap, and I hook the hose up to the tap and clear it with clean hot water... I wash the mask parts with a bounty towel.

I'm not sure if it's the same, but I had an odour of something indistinct that I did not particularly like periodically. I started soaking my equipment once per week in a diluted water/vinegar solution in addition to washing with mild soapy water and it seems to be gone. I wash my water tank and mask parts daily, but the 8ft hose just weekly.

I notice that whenever, there's a smell in my house, such as a cooking odor or some sort of chemical smell, it lingers in my CPAP machine much longer than it does in the house in general. I also smell it more strongly with the CPAP than in the room air.
Both of these effects go away after letting the air blow through the machine for a few seconds.
You'll also smell anything near the inlet of the machine more strongly.
Of course, there could also be something stinky in your machine as well.

i get a faint "sneeze" odor that doesn't seem to wash out no matter what I use on my stuff. i hate it, but at least I don't detect it anymore by the 3rd breath.

Tongue Suck Technique for prevention of mouth breathing:
- Place your tongue behind your front teeth on the roof of your mouth
- let your tongue fill the space between the upper molars
- gently suck to form a light vacuum
Practising during the day can help you to keep it at night

Also might be worth looking at the filters, they should be changed frequently.

Have you had the unit since new, -0- hours?
I have no problem with using a used unit, just not one from a smoking home.
