What other good options are there? Has anyone done a DIY with a Raspberry Pi or something? Fitbit is much too inaccurate--maybe it does well for healthy sleepers, but lots of trouble distinguishing REM vs Awake in my case.

Best home/DIY EEG sleep tracking options?
Unfortunately I started looking into this at just about the time Dreem 2 was discontinued and prices on ebay shot up to $1000+. Not sure I want to shell out that kind of money.

RE: Best home/DIY EEG sleep tracking options?
When you say, EEG, are you wanting to measure your brain waves? If so, I don't know of an affordable device for home use. On the other hand, if you want to monitor your heart (EKG or ECG), Wellue (Supplier #40) has a recording ECG that works very well. Besides producing the complete raw ECG data in a PDF format, the price includes an online AI analysis service that produces a PDF report that includes your stats and any anomalies.

I do mean EEG/brain waves for sleep tracking. $1K+ Dreem 2 seems like the best option out there that google searches reveal so far. Hoping someone here might know of something better cheaper, some DIY hack, etc.

Search the dotmed website to see several used ones for sale, by various medical supply houses.

I just did a search using, "eeg for sale". Several popped up on eBay. One was a Dreem2 and a Dreem.

Looking for less expensive options than Dreem 2.
The dot med site looks interesting. They have some used home sleep tests. Not sure how easy it is to pull the data from them though.

The DIY options aren't that cheap either. You could look in to getting a Zeo (original bedside clock variety). You can connect to the serial port and extract (in real time only) EEG data @128Hz. These pop up on eBay from time to time at reasonable prices. Main challenge seems to be headband. Battery in the sensor unit is also an issue.
