Bipap AVAPS problems

RE: Bipap AVAPS problems
It would help if you could post the data you're looking at. There is a lot more than just AHI. Your current settings use a pressure support of 6.0 which is not overly high, and I'm sure not going to second guess your physician's suggestion of maximum pressure given your history. You indicate you are using ST mode, but did not indicate a backup rate (breaths/minute). Also, your Ti is relatively short, so if you don't feel the machine gives you pressure support through a full breath, that is the first place to look.

Since oxygen is an issue, you might want to look into getting a recording oximeter. They are not very expensive, and the Contec CMS50I is a wrist sensor oximeter that is comfortable and can chart your SpO2 along with your Sleepyhead data.

There is limited optimization that I would be willing to suggest given the complexity of your health situation, and the fact you are under the care of a pulmonologist that has knowledge of your history and capabilities. If you post the Sleepyhead data, we can perhaps offer some talking points to discuss with the doctor.

RE: Bipap AVAPS problems
Hi again and thanks Sleeprider.

I have attached the Encore Basic report to this post for up to yesterday 28th April, but today 29th my AHI was 14.44, but did not sleep very well due to periodic coughing from the bronchiectisis.  I really appreciate your advice and look forward to your comments.  I know my mask leaks are high as I try to use the True Blue nasal mask but my sinuses become blocked and I revert to the Resmed Airfit 10 or 20.

Again thanks

RE: Bipap AVAPS problems
Hi again Sleeprider,

I am still getting used to using the Apnea Board web postings and previously posted with the Encore Basic sleep data, but not sure whether it was too big as I received a message indicating it was illegal so I have zipped the file and attached it to this posting.

Thanks and best regards

Using attachments on the forum is very limited in space and size. Use the links in my signature. The second one describes how to use Imgur to host images and post them here.
