Bipap question

RE: Bipap question
Looks like my flow limitation is okay. I spike throughout the night, 95% number
was .21 for last night, I couldn't find an average for the month. What is a good range?

RE: Bipap question
I have some data now at different start pressures- 5 day averages:

LOW PRESSURE AHI EAP

12.4 , 3.27 , 1
12.4 , 3.82 , 2
16.0 , 5.16 , 3

7 DAY AVERAGE:

13-14 , 3.84

21 DAY AVERAGE

12 , 3.74

BASED ON THE ABOVE I'M GOING BACK TO 12.4. LOOKS LIKE I WILL
ALWAYS HAVE NUMEROUS EVENTS DURING THE NIGHT. STILL WEARING
THE TENNIS BALL AND AM ELEVATING THE HEAD OF MY BED WITH
HARRY POTTER BOOKS. I GUESS I AM SURPRISED AT HOW AWFUL
I DID AT A STARTING PRESSURE OF 16 the last 2 nights. MY NUMBERS WERE 4.19,
2.79, 2.63, 6.49 , AND 9.72.

I
will stay positive, but I am very frustrated. I think I need a pep talk

RE: Bipap question
Well Ready, let's re-evaluate a little. It looks like what you've been doing is jockying the low pressure around a bit. But if you put it back where it was (12.4?) and the max at 20? I would be interested in seeing what the S9 thinks is right for you.

The other thing I see (I think) is when you adjusted the pressure to 16 you also increased the EPR to 3.

And, I'm still concerned about your leak rates.

I think if it was my body, I would set the machine at the original 12.4, turn EPR off and run for a few days monitoring the ahi number, and the median and 95% values for leak and pressure. Also I'd want to know how many of the events were OA's versus CA's or Hypops.

The only thing I would not do is to continue making changes daily or even every few days. You really need to give your body a chance to adapt to the settings you choose for awhile to see what the ahi really does.

........and you really don't need a pep talk. You're doing great. You're using the machine and your body thanks you. It will just be a little while until you hit that sweet spot that turns everything around for you. So good job Ready.........
