Breathing Not Detected (Sleepyhead Software)

Breathing Not Detected (Sleepyhead Software)
Hi,

I am new here and wanted to find out what the "breathing not detected" really means?

I have included a screen shot.

Some days it shows 0.00% and other days not.

The CPAP machine I use is a Philips Respironics System One Remstar Pro with C-Flex+

Thank you.  Smile

RE: Breathing Not Detected (Sleepyhead Software)
We sometimes see BDR flagged with the Philips Respironics machines error on the flow sensor. I can be leaks or just data loss. In your case, it is an error. You should upgrade to the current version of OSCAR which has a lot of improvements and corrections for your machine. Speaking of your machine, you are way overdue for replacement.

Thanks for the reply.

I installed the OSCAR software and there is nothing now for the "breathing not detected"

Now I see there is "variable breathing".  Mine is at 15.84%.  What does that mean?

Thank you.  Smile

It's a Philips Respironics thing, and there is a wiki for that too http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.php..._Breathing

Your therapy looks pretty good, and the variable breathing is just flagged when there is a difference in peak flow rate from breath to breath, and in auto CPAP machines it affects how pressure is increased or decreased. The only way to really know what is going on is to zoom in on the flow rate and see what is there. Given you use a fixed CPAP machine, I recommend turning off the flag. It really has no significance for you.
