On/off button issue & mysterious machine resetting itself

On/off button issue & mysterious machine resetting itself
Two issues I need help with:

#1 - Thanks to the wonderful information here, I was able to change my husbands pressure setting.  He was supposed to be at a 15 but when I went to change it, the setting said he was at a 10.  Have you ever had a setting "mysteriously" reset itself to a different pressure?  No wonder he was having problems.  I set it to a 14 so that the initial shock would not kill him and will move it up as necessary.

#2 - On my machine, the on/off button no longer works, so therefore I cannot change my setting.  Does anyone know how to fix the on off button or where I an get it fixed?  I have been unplugging it and replugging it which I know is not good for the machine.

Any help would be so appreciated.

Thank you!

G'day mmorans5. Welcome to Apnea Board.

I think it's very unlikely you will be able to obtain spare parts for your machine, but some suppliers do provide a repair service. Have a look at the suppliers list (link at the top of this page) and see if Supplier #27 or Supplier #28 can help you. Given the age of your machine it might be worth considering a replacement - the S8 would be at least five years old now, which is about their design life span.

You are overdue for a replacement machine. The options are to use your insurance or simply buy out of pocket. For many people, it can be less expensive to buy through an outlet like Amazon (Philips Dreamstation Auto at $360 or Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset $545) than to go through the insurance which may not only have deductibles on a highly inflated price, but might require a new prescription which could pile on doctor visits and sleep studies.

Machines should not spontaneously reset. If your husband has a new machine through a medical supplier, it's possible they reset the settings remotely.
