Buying a machine?

RE: Buying a machine?
You don't need a power adaptor if it is like the rental I have - you just need to get a (figure 8) power cord (2pin Mains Plug to IEC C7 Female - 1.8m) - you can get them at Jaycar - to plug into the power pack.

the painful irony is that the S9 VPAP sitting next to me was made in Australia... seems like they'd be cheap as chips down there.

perhaps y'all should form an angry mob and storm the company, demanding they quit screwing you over on price.

It is kind of like petro. We pay less per gallon where I live than in cities that are full of oil fields.

Note that these are the same power cords used for laptops.

Or if you tidy up your garage you might come across a power cord that was used for an old printer, that will fit the bill! Smile

That image looks like it is the US pins and not the AU pins?

Yes those too....... (although old Acer power bricks have a 3 pin clover leaf type plug for the brick)

So in a nutshell folks, is there a place in the U.S that does not require a prescription? (link) and if no, is there a link to the format of the prescription that the U.S suppliers need. Also, does a doctor have to sign the prescription, or does it have to be a sleep specialist?
Cheers

Legally, DMEs (Durable Medical Equipment suppliers) cannot sell CPAP machines, masks or humidifiers without first having a valid patient prescription on file. If someone is selling CPAP machines without that, they are engaging in illegal activity (here in the U.S.).

The prescription can be signed by any doctor. It does not have to be a sleep specialist.

Hopefully others can chime in on the specific form of prescription needed.
