CMS50F OXIMETER LOADS BAD DATA AT START UP

CMS50F OXIMETER LOADS BAD DATA AT START UP
I have take two weeks of data on my CMS50F oximeter.   All of the data has the same problem, it starts recording data before the oximeter  has time to warm up/stabilize itself.  So the first data recorded is always erroneous, below are screen shots of SleepyHead and SPO2 Assisant, both log the erroneous data.  Hopefully somebody knows of a simple solution for this!

The "F" model should allow you to power up and report data without recording. Wait a few minutes before starting the record function. Also, do not use the hand that has the probe affixed to it for any activity, like tuning on the CPAP. Any abrupt hand movement will produce artifacts.

RE: CMS50F OXIMETER LOADS BAD DATA AT START UP
I tried what you said and it is still giving the bad data.  But I did by coincidence find some important information. For July 2, 2018 my lowest SO2 was 2, for July 3 it was 3, for july 4 it was 4, for july 5 my lowest SO2  was 5;  I am sure you can see the pattern.  For what it is worth my Oximeter says it is using version 6.  The only contact for the company I have is    cms@contecmed.com.cn  If anyone knows  a better place  to report this software issue to Contec Please let me know.

It looks to me like both of you have oximeters whose firmware doesn't match the available reporting software.

What firmware version is reported when you first start your meter? When did you purchase your meter and from whom?

Perhaps Kevin Cooper at Supplier #19 can shed some light on this problem, but we will need more information to present to him.

When I start my oximeter it says version 6.0.  I bought it from Amazon on June 28, 2018 and it was sold by  BP MEDICAL SUPPLIES  and I am using SPO2 assistant 3.0.4 .

Also this is the letter that I sent Contec:

Date: Tue, 7 Aug 2018 21:34:38 -0400

Subject: Report of Software Error   SPO2 Assistant V 3.0.4

From: Michael Shaw

To: cms@contecmed.com.cn

Dear Sirs:

I recently bought a CMS50F I found that the first readings for BP and 02 gave very bad and low data.  But I did by coincidence find some important information. For July 2, 2018 my lowest SO2 was 2, for July 3 it was 3, for

July 4 it was 4, for July 5 my lowest SO2 was 5; I am sure you can see the pattern.  For what it is worth my Oximeter says it is using version 6.

Hopefully you can fix this and get new software issued.  If you need any other information please contact me.

Thank you,

Michael Shaw

I will also send Kevin Cooper an email. I will update this post as I get additional information.

That's very interesting. I bought mine from Supplier #19 about two and a half years ago, and it was (the OLED died) firmware version 3.8. That's quite a jump in version numbers. I hope Kevin can get us some answers.

Bump on this any resolution before I buy a new one. If not any suggestions on what model I should purchase?

GuppyDRV, make your choice based on the features you need/want.  The quality shortcomings seem to be uniform across the product line in hardware, firmware, and software.
