RE: Beyond ASV with Overlap Syndrome!
Yes it's been there in mind but not at the front as it ought. Thanks for the reminder. If/when it comes up, I'll pull it out. This Dr. Viramgama is much more ready to go on with NIV. So I'll see how it plays out. I'll zombie it out 2 more weeks and test out. I'm to get yearly PFT anyway.

RE: Beyond ASV with Overlap Syndrome!
Had the PFT with Arterial blood gas and oxygen walk test yesterday in Hanover. The supposed plan is doc will write an order for NIV soon after this test.
Oxygen was at a low of 90% during the walk test, measured continuous while walking 6 minutes. ABG data within normal range. No discussion on PFT with tech. She stated that test results should be completed Friday.

blow blow blow!
PFT tests with COPD usually show a lot of air continues to be exhaled after you feel the lungs are empty. Have you also been told you have "hyperinflated lungs"?

Not yet, but it's not going to be a big surprise when they say this.
FWIW between the 2 walk tests for oxygen, I've lost 6% points from 96 to 90. Guess I may be toting oxygen concentrator in about another year.

RE: Beyond ASV with Overlap Syndrome!
OK some updates:
After the PFT test, had virtual visit with doctor. PFT results are I'm not COPD but asthmatic. Arterial blood gas test results were within normal for all. Walk test determined no oxygen needed. For the doctor to address my Apnea, he's ordered a new base sleep study specifically as he said he'd only decide on new machine afterwards. Not that I'm really wanting any other study, but I'm nearing 2 years of no Apnea therapy. And I must get a machine that will work with and not against. I'd suggested considering ResMed AirCurve 10 ST-A as it's the same script code E-0471 as the ASV. They won't just change the words ASV to ST-A. They need a boat payment with a new study, as I guess the ones I did last year don't have Apnea evidence. And there's no way currently that I'm coming up with money to buy any machine outright. So yes I'm frustrated. I'm tired of being a test dummy. After around 2 years of no therapy I'm getting a bit of an attitude. Here's my current Apnea fighter.

Hey!!! That’s great news. You’ve been cured of COPD.
Sounds like that are the dummies and your patients is what is being tested. Have one on me.
