RE: Beyond ASV with Overlap Syndrome!
Nothing especially remarkable there other than the low sleep efficiency. This report really does not get into details other than SpO2 and AHI, both of which seem good. The only reason I'm posting is to let you know we're following along. It appears everyone came through the ordeal intact.

RE: Beyond ASV with Overlap Syndrome!
Thanks Sleeprider. I think this test was less detailed on the report than my previous. Regardless, I do feel that it shows a poor efficiency in sleep. I saw a bit of arousals, but not exactly seeing on the report why. Given the PSG was not on my hospital bed, I think there's disturbances that still show up at home, maybe an idiopathic nature. And I still believe an AVAPS / iVAPS mode on a machine gives the timing control I feel is needed. This would be not totally inclusive, but cycle, trigger, Ti min/max, maybe others, are what I'm thinking.

RE: Beyond ASV with Overlap Syndrome!
OK well the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic's historic event has delayed a PFT/Pulmonary Function Test adding about 1 extra month to the wait to begin submitting an order for a new machine. May 1 is the beginning of Medicare coverage, and the doc wanted to wait until it was active, using the switch to new insurance coverage to help with obtaining a new machine. I'll test on the PFT May 7 and the doc follow-up May 26. I am going to suggest designating Lincare as my DME, as they will allow keeping ResMed as the machine of choice. That's the plan, and as scheduling is tight right now at the pulmonary doc's, it is the soonest possible for these items to get taken care of.

That is all, over and out. Coffee

RE: Beyond ASV with Overlap Syndrome!
The scheduled April testing did not happen because COVID-19 shut things down. I finally have a Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) scheduled for June 11, 2020 and a Doc follow-up June 19. The doc follow-up should begin my trek to get a new machine to replace the ASV. With what I've gathered so far it's going to be an NIV like the ResMed Astral or a Philips Trilogy. I think I'll stick with ResMed.

I'm sure you will blow away your PFT. Good luck Dave.

RE: Beyond ASV with Overlap Syndrome!
Thanks SR. Normally these PFTs are to track COPD and this one counts for that. I suspect Doc wants a current tracking account of COPD to include with the new machine request to go with the medically necessary write-up.

Other news, the ticker gets checked with a 2 visit test session in June. New echocardiogram and non-treadmill stress tests on schedule in week 1 and 2. Back on BP pill, new regimen of low dose aspirin, and the palpitations are on chronic inconsistent on/off with new brief dizzy spells.

Hey Dave,
Wishing you best of luck on your journey. I’m not able to offer much help in forms of suggestions but I can say that your Sheer determination is very inspirational. Thank you and keep on keeping on brother!

RE: Beyond ASV with Overlap Syndrome!
Thank you, it is much appreciated.

FWIW ticker tests were done, with nuclear chemical stress test done yesterday EARLY AM. Twas the most evil thing possible, had to fast coffee for 24 hours! No results till Doc calls. Oh and PFC/pulmonary function test is tomorrow. Finally!

Thinking I should just fill out a script for myself and let doc sign it. lots-o-coffee
