RE: Change Pressure
S2S, many people have flow limitations that do not resolve with CPAP pressure, and flow limitation alone can increase the pressure in a machine to the maximum set pressure without any corresponding therapy benefit. For those people we always recommend picking a maximum pressure that is optimal against obstructive apnea and hypopnea, but limits the range of the auto CPAP. That maximum pressure becomes a fixed CPAP pressure most of the time as the machine's auto algorithm relentlessly increases pressure as far as possible in the presence of flow limits. This is quite common.
