CPAP Charities
Anyone have any insight to domestic US charities that take in used CPAP machines to provide to someone that may not other wise have access to one? Machines that have too many hours for someone like Secondwind (Supplier #2) to sell/recycle - like machines that may have 3,000 - 4,000 or more hours on them, but would still have a service life of a few years left. Or may take and fix struggling machines or use for parts.

I know it has probably been discussed here before, but I would like to find out more and in particular if someone has had good or bad experiences with them.

Gracias muchos danke -

RE: CPAP Charities
ASAA has a donation and CPAP assistance program here:

http://www.sleepapnea.org/resources/cpap...ogram.html

But as some have pointed out, ASAA charges those in need a $70.00 "program fee" for one mask, and $100 "program fee" for a CPAP machine, so it would be $170 to get setup with a "free" CPAP & mask. Pretty sure the person in need also needs to pay shipping for the items.

Some have pointed out that ASAA may be using that program to raise funds for their organization, since they get donated CPAPs & Masks for free (which may or may not be true).

Secondwind acts as the collection point for the ASAA's CPAP assistance program. They are both at the same street address in Tracy, Minnesota. The ASAA doesn't want anything older than S9 or System One.
