RE: Finally got my machine
You probably already got your answer but here's another 2 cents worth.
When I started my AHI was high and I did not sleep. Then over the next 4 months my AHI slowly went down to < 1. Sleep was better but still not good. Month 5 sleep jumped up to satisfactory but AHI also jumped up. Very discouraging. Month 6, sleep got better to what I call good and AHI is starting to come down. Just when I think I have it order control, I get another setback. Now I have too see a heart Doctor.
Bottom line: every month was better than the previous even if it was very different. And I do see a light at the end of the tunnel.
CPAP is a journey like “The Wizard of Oz”. It’s a long slow journey. You will face many problems and pick up many friends along the way. Just because you reach the poppies, it doesn’t mean you are in Kansas.
RE: Finally got my machine
I wasn't given an option.

Not unless you educate yourself before you get the machine. You always have an option, you just have to know how to assert it.
