[CPAP] Help with oscar

RE: Help with oscar
I will make the pressure changes you are recommending. I am still waiting for all the parts to build my custom EER mask. Should I buy a different machine or continue on CPAP?

RE: Help with oscar
I'm sorry, you have already answered thay question. A different machine would probably make my breathing worse. I guess the EER mask modifications is my last hope....

RE: Help with oscar
I'm not fond of the Philips Dreamstation delivery of air, and think the Resmed CPAP makes inspiration/expiration transitions easier. I don't think you need any form of pressure support or EPR at this point, but with EERS you may actually tolerate it. If you can change to Resmed, it won't hurt, but I don't know how much benefit there will be either.

When you are ready to start the EERS, start your new thread as there are several members here that have done this and can help.

FWIW just mentioning because I think it's applicable here for you after Sleeprider's last post, there are distinct breath pattern differences that are unique to ResMed vs Respironics. My RT has said it is important when determining a new machine to choose the brand that enhances comfort and that you are more comfortable with. ResMed and Respironics deliver different breath patterns that can be the key to comfort. Some will feel more comfortable with one or the other. And it can make a difference in PAP therapy results by choosing one or the other.
