G'day Jeff

6 stones is 84 pounds, which is about 37 or 38 kilograms. That's a heck of a lot to lose in four months - congratulations! Well-done I don't think there's any way to simply tell if your apnea has resolved itself without doing another sleep study. Your AHI of 66 was very high - here in Australia that qualifies as very severe. I suspect the bad news is that you'll still have the apnea but it will be much less disruptive than before you lost the weight.

Time for a deep and meaningful chat with your doctor, I think. Good luck!

Hi rogejeffr and welcome to the forum
Your AHI is good while using CPAP indication that the treatment is working, you,re not going to know the answer of your question without a new sleep study. Did your pressure drop since loosing weight? which model of the autoset are you using (S8, S9)
btw ... we,re the normal ones here, just happen to nap/sleep with PAP
Sleep-well

Regardless of the time it's still a hell of an effort. I struggle to get one or two kilograms off.

Welcome Jeff, fantastic job for losing all that weight, normally weight loss only helps the reduce the serverity of sleep apnea we have. It is not very often cured but as Zonk said the only way to know is to have another sleep study. Whatever you do, don't go off your CPAP until you have had the sleep study. I wish you the best of luck and keep us updated on how you go. If your symptoms have improved it is more than likely your therapy is working which is also fantastic more than the weight loss, if you have to stay on CPAP it is not the worst thing in life.

Welcome to the forum!!! We are glad you joined us!!! Welcome

Some people have been able to come off of XPAP therapy after losing a great deal of weight. I lost a little over 100 lbs (45 kg) and had a follow up sleep study to see if I could lose the machine.

Turns out I couldn't. Oh-jeez

You might be able to be one of those lucky people. I hope you are. Sleep-well
