[CPAP] Is it normal to hear a subtle whistle when the machine is working?

Beej, for sound machines, I love the LectroFan by Adaptive Sound Technologies; also, I have one of their newer Evo versions.  I have one of these in my bedroom, office, and kitchen, LOL!

My ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet is literally silent. The only thing that I can hear, is my breathing. Not sure if my wife can hear it, as she's never mentioned that she could.

Beings it's my 1st CPAP machine, I wasn't sure what to expect from it as far as being noisy. Let's just say that I'm very impressed with it.  like

Yeah, the AirSense are our first cpap machines, but mine (my husband's awhile ago) began whistling, which I could hear through my earplugs and sound soother..  I will try the squeeze method for a short bit to see if that makes a better seal in the humidifier.  I noticed last night while fiddling with it that when I squeezed the humidifier briefly the whistling went away, so I will do that for a longer time.

There is a lid seal and inlet and outlet seals. Make sure everything is properly lined up. If the humidifier chamber is getting old, replace it. They are not expensive and are intended to be replaced on a 6 month interval.

Well, the hubbie's humidifier is older than mine, and I thought mine (my replacement) would last longer.  But, perhaps age could be the culprit.
