Did daylight savings time mess up SleepyHead?

RE: Did daylight savings time mess up SleepyHead?
Yes, the time doubling for me seems to be data that is about a month old. As for turning off sessions, I'm getting mixed results with that. Sometimes, it works, but most of the time, it is as if one of the sessions has some of the graphs and the other session has the rest.

I love SleepyHead and find ResScan annoying as well as not very intuitive to use. But if the data continues to be skewed like this, I'll have no choice but to go back to that.

RE: Did daylight savings time mess up SleepyHead?
Just read this thread. And I am so glad I did. For the last week or so it seemed that the AHI average in Sleepyhead was creeping up but the daily data that I had seen did not support any big jump in the average AHI.

I love Sleepyhead and am not that mathematically inclined.

Oh-jeez

so I just thought there must have been some days where the numbers must have been higher than I remembered. But it was nagging at me.

Then after seeing this thread I loaded all of the data into ResScan, and lo and behold, according to ResScan the average AHI had actually gone down all the way to 1.1 for the last 90 days; Sleepyhead had the average suddenly bumped up to 3.02 which just did not seem right after being lots lower most of the time.

I feel better each day when this average is still going down (kind of like my own weight) and I am not even the one using the machine so this is great news!

Sleepyhead graphs and data are much easier to understand for me. I use Sleepyhead for the Mac but we have ResScan and a old PC and will now use both for a while. Will use Sleepyhead for daily use and then ResScan weekly or so for the overall trends until this little glitch gets fixed in Sleepyhead.

We who use Sleepyhead should make another donation to keep this great software going and get it fixed (and also report the glitch although this seems to be common enough to already be known).

Goodnight

Unfortunately, it appears donations are not prompting the author to update the software. It's a curious situation.

JediMark had some personal issues that forced him to stop working on SleepyHead. Then I heard that he was back working on it. I don't know if he is still able to devote much time to it. But I still give him $50 every now and then. If I had to pay for software like this it would be much more.

The open source world is different from the commercial world. I use nothing but open source software and I understand that development comes in fits and starts. Huge projects like Open/LibreOffice have thousands of developers worldwide, so development progresses at a fairly even pace. Small projects sometimes languish for periods of time because the developer(s) are few and sometimes get bogged down in other affairs. But before complaining people should remind themselves how much they paid for it.

Yes, it is Open Source. No, I cannot code. No, I am not keeping it to myself.

OKAY This needs to be addressed immediately.
Paula, I sincerely apologize, for I never try to be rude on here.
Also I rarely try to be rude anywhere else. I am, however, prone to expressing myself poorly.
Let me try again.
When you purchase software (or purchase a "license" etc pay for the use of it, I won't get technical) I suppose it makes sense to have a high expectation that it works the way it's supposed to work.
However, with programs that are freeware, public domain, open source, etc, I've learned over time that no matter how good a program is or tries to be, I acknowledge that I get what I pay for and if a program exceeds this, it's a bonus.

IMHO if a program comes at no cost to me, who am I to complain about it? I try to take it as is. When I was introduced to the concept of open source (Linux was my first example) I thought it was great. It seemed to model the political concept of socialism in a way, from how it was described to me.
But what I meant was that since I cannot personally contribute to the code and do my share (fix it myself, as I stated) who am I to complain?

Now, I realize that not everybody shares this philosophy and I'm OK with that. Unfortunately it appears that I didn't express this clearly enough. I for one am one of those "users" and don't have the capacity to improve upon SleepyHead. But I never meant to come across negatively towards anyone else here. Ever.
