Results (from Sleepyhead):
Median pressure - 7.66; 95% 10.86; max 11.80
Median leaks - 0; 95% leaks 7.2; max leaks 24. The two leak events were not coincident with the apnea events
the two leak events more likely indicate mouth leaks
a chinstrap can be help keeping mouth closed and prevents air leaks thru the mouth
the median pressure 7.66 indicate to me, the minimum pressure set too low but one need verify with Resscan

EPR does not lower exhale pressure if pressure set at 4
at 4, inhale and exhale pressures would be 4 as the machine does not go any lower than 4 regardless of EPR setting

btw, its a good approach and whats make so ... its your own Well-done

RE: New S9 Autoset Setup
Night 2....

Best night of sleep I've had in a while. And I haven't felt the need for a nap yet today. Smile

AHI - 0.65; Hypopnea - 0.52; Apnea - 0; Obstructive - 0; Clear Airway - 0.13
Median pressure - 6.9; 95% pressure 10.3

Am really thankful for the ability to look at my data using SleepyHead. Thanks Based on the pressure graphs, my fixed setting of six would have had me without adequate pressure for about 3.5 hours last night. No wonder I've been so tired. I can also see that my pressure was at the minimum setting for about three hours. The remaining time was the pressure dropping back to the minimum setting.

I'm using a standard hose and will do that for about a week while I see what the "average" numbers look like. Then I'll change over to the ClimateLine hose. I didn't want to add that variable to the mix until I had a good comparison between the S9 and my old Prespironics machine.

The ClimateLine is purely a comfort feature. I really doubt it would be a variable worthy of note.

Some day when I'm really bored, I'll test my theory. I'm bored a lot lately.

Whatever works. However, remember, he's had the current setting for months or years, and it will only take two weeks to adjust all the way up to 20 cmH2O. In all likelihood, he'll hit the correct pressure in a few days.

Paula, you said "The ClimateLine is purely a comfort feature. I really doubt it would be a variable worthy of note." That is what I thought but I saw some posts that talked about AHI changing based on dehumidifier settings.

jgjones - you commented on correcting the desaturation levels. I have no evidence of desaturation at this point. I had two pulse oximeter sleep studies in the last year; neither of them indicated a problem.

I'm looking forward to my upcoming doctor's appointment since I'll be going armed with detailed knowledge of my situation. Wink Seems like it will be hard for him to argue that my approach was a bad one or that I should not have a auto-adjusting machine but we shall see.

Oops, I misread an earlier post concerning the desats. Re-reading I see that those events were from your sleep study. I thought you were saying the desats were happening recently.

Sorry about that, but congrats on the improved sleep!

RE: New S9 Autoset Setup
Thought I'd provide an update after 9 days with the new machine.

AHI - Last 7 days 1.0; Last 30 days 0.93; highest was last night at 2.14
95% pressure is running around 8.7 with occasional bumps to the max of 12.

Definitely sleeping and feeling better. Have woken before the alarm a few times in the last week and also don't anyone waking me up to tell me to roll over and off my back. Bigwink
