[CPAP] Observations appreciated
#1
Observations appreciated
Getting used to all the information coming from my Aircurve 10 Bipap.

Something that has been probably going on through out my 12 years of treatment.  Have observed AHI floats between .93 and last night 5.07, I pretty much do the same thing every night.  Is this something that just fluctuates day to day?

Last night about 1am I woke up feeling like I could not inhale as easily I should be.  Also felt like I almost had a headache.  I am using an Airfit P10 and also noticed several occasions where the leak rate is -0-.  I know the mask has a built in leak so not sure how it could be that low.

My old machine was a Resmed Bipap but was set for fixed pressure.  My sleep study from years ago  shows they used both fixed pressure as well as bipap (the study indicated I did better on bipap.  Any reason to set a bipap that auto adjusts to a fixed pressure?

Thanks for input.

You need to turn your event flag on for CA. It's at the bottom of your sleepyhead chart.

If it was my chart, I'd have min 9, max 14 and then recheck. I would turn the epr down to 1 or 0, till the CA settle down and see where it goes from there.
I think you are mouth breathing, there are several things you can try. I chose to go with a full face mask, that covers my mouth and nose.

For auto-cpap, from machine data or software. You can set the min pressure 1 or 2cm below 95%. Or clinicians commonly use the maximum or 95% pressure for fixed pressure CPAP, this can also be used for min pressure.

I don't agree with ajack, but we're not too far out of agreement. I think the centrals are a product of pressure support, so I would reduce that to 3-cm, and set minimum EPAP pressure at 6.0 and maximum IPAP at 14.0. I think the reduced pressure support will resolve CA events, and will improve on OA. Overall, your therapy looks good, but you need to narrow pressure range a bit, and reduce pressure support.

I don't agree with me either, I must be more careful when I have more than one chart up. I must have been looking at an apap and simply made a mistake...last I looked Vauto doesn't have epr and the pressure suggestions were for an apap. Oh-jeez
It's a balance between treating the oa/h and not blowing the CA out of the park, till the body normally gets use to xpap therapy. Unfortunately few have o2 meters to see if the ca come with an o2 drop.

RE: Observations appreciated
thanks for the input, i changed settings from ps 4 and range of 4.6-20 to ps 3 and range of 6-14.  Have been out of town, so posted charts for subsequent days to hopefully get an idea of trending since settings.

Observations appreciated,

Keith

Okay, so did we just nail it? Looks like we called the 8-ball for the corner pocket and buried it.

Way to go!
