Question
res med results
Been trying to use a Res med S9 with H5i humidifier for 3 months. Tried nose/mouth mask nose pillow; neither helps me get past two hours sleep mark. Wake up with terrible dry mouth. After two hour nap, can't get back to sleep. Does anyone get 6-8 hours continuous sleep? Air to mask seems "cold". Any suggestions?

I think you need to increase the setting or turn on the humidifier, if you have one, to a higher setting. A dry mouth could also indicate that you are breathing thru your mouth.
The air that comes out the tube will normally feel cooler because it is moving swifter then the surrounding/ambient air. It is still the same temp unless you have put ice water into the water chamber of the humidifier.
Yes, I get a 8-9 hour whole nights sleep, BUT it didn't come right away and it took a lot of perseverance and effort.

I admit it. I use my S9 Escape and I can get 6-7 hours of sleep.
If you have a dry mouth did you consider bumping up the humidity?
I'm pleased to see that distilled water is quite cheap. You can consider a heated tube. I used one when experimenting with a Philips REMstar but I had other problems with that. It did, however, use up water quickly and I ended up filling the humidifier every other day.
This morning, after about 7 hours I went back to sleep. I just wasn't rested. I didn't check to see how many hours I clocked after finally getting up. Mind you, I've been using a CPAP since about 1997 so it's not a new experience - just a new machine.

Which S9 do you have? Look at the power button and above it should be the name. The EPR is the exhale pressure relief and all S9s have that.

It would be interesting to see what your data says, if you have a data capable machine. But I'm thinking JudgeMental is right in that you either have the humidifier too low or you are breathing through your mouth at night. Or both!

Hi pdqracer and WELCOME! to the forum.!
I would also suggest that you turn up your humidifier a notch or two. If you find that you are mouth breathing, you might try a chinstrap of which there are several different types.
Best of luck to you.
